Vegetarian Menu Items at Stonefire Grill

When I finally committed to a plant-based diet, I knew that eating out would be a challenge. Even here in Southern California, the definition of vegetarian is as varied as the stars in the sky. Experience and time have taught me how to navigate even the most challenging of restaurant menus. And then there are restaurants like Stonefire Grill which make eating a plant-based meal not only feasible but enjoyable.

Sisters Mary and Maureen Harrigan dreamed up Stonefire Grill’s fast-casual dining concept as a tribute to her own family dinner table, which boasted large plates shared amongst loved ones. Stonefire Grill’s expansive menu includes everything from Mesquite BBQ Tri Tip and Baby Back Ribs to salads, pizzas, and pastas. Each dish is freshly prepared and offers families the value they are seeking when dining out.

For families on-the-go, Stonefire Grill offers a “to go” option, and each restaurant is designed with a special entrance specifically dedicated to take out to save time. There are currently 10 Southern California Stonefire Grill Locations with 2 more scheduled to open in Brea and Ventura.

If you follow a special diet, inform the manager before ordering at your local Stonefire Grill location. The team can assist with helping to select vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free menu items. In many instances, traditional menu items can be made vegetarian or even vegan by omitting the protein. I also recommend downloading Stonefire Grill’s Nutrition and Allergen Fact sheet before your visit.

We recently dined at Stonefire Grill and enjoyed several salads along with a pizza for dinner, which was the perfect quick meal for this on-the-go family. I chose their Golden State Kale Salad, which is vegan and is served with their Lemon Tahini Dressing. Some of my other favorite salads include the Keen Green Salad, Mediterranean Salad Bowl, Traditional Greek Salad, and Healthy Hybrid Salad, all of which are vegetarian. Omit the cheese and opt for a vegan dressing and these salads are completely plant-based.

One of our family’s favorite foods is pizza. Stonefire Grill offers 10 different varieties, six of which are vegetarian. Our top picks include the Tomato & Basil, Stonefire’s Favorite, and the Roasted Veggie.

Stonefire Grill’s diverse menu means that you can visit for lunch or dinner and enjoy a wide variety of dishes. If you plan to dine for lunch, I recommend The Caprese or Roasted Cauliflower Pita sandwich. Both are vegetarian, flavorful, and satiating.

Craving pasta? Each of Stonefire Grill’s pasta dishes can be made vegetarian. My pick? The Tomesto, which is the best option when you can’t decide between tomato and pesto sauces.

Stonefire Grill’s Family Meals are ideal for groups of 4 or more and include a protein (chicken, ribs, trip-tip) or pizza (for vegetarians), a salad, and breadsticks. You can also add-on sides, many of which are vegetarian including the Farro Salad, Quinoa, Whole Roasted Cauliflower, and Stonefire’s Roasted Vegetables.
